When I was given this assignment to create a blog, and regularly update it with new posts, my initial reaction was, "Of course, just another assignment." However, as time progressed, I started to enjoy the assignment more and more with each blog post. With the only regulation being that I had to connect my topics to the idea of learning, once I realized the level of freedom I had with the assignment, I started to enjoy writing the blog posts, and did not even view them as assignments anymore. Typically, every post discussed a topic I found interesting during that month. By reading every blog post from start to finish, one can see my train of thought long term and throughout the year. In my case, I was interested in computer science and computer programming at the beginning of the year. However, as time progressed, my interests shifted to boards and riding. Then, with school in mind, and AP exams approaching, my final blog post focused on school. Overall, I had an good time being able to share my thoughts and views of whatever topic I deemed interesting. This long term assignment has motivated me to potentially create my own blog. I recently found out that when I was young, my parents registered the domain name: www.danielhult.com (currently the URL just reroutes to my father's MSU work website). This could potentially be the URL for my own blog, if I choose to actually create one.
