As the active users of this blog know, I recently purchased a Penny Board and fell in love with the practical riding experience it delivered. Doing more research and realizing that college is coming up faster than I think, I found a traveling vehicle that will get me around any college campus quickly... The Boosted Board. The Boosted Board is a board based off a typical longboard; however, a motor is attached to the board, allowing for incredibly fast speeds and incredibly efficient travels. In terms of operation and specs, the Boosted Board is equipped with a motor underneath and the user is given a wireless Bluetooth remote which controls the speed of the board. Along with that, the board itself reaches a top speed of 22 mph and has a range of 6-8 miles depending on which model is purchased. Also, since the Boosted Board is based off a longboard, it is incredibly easy and smooth to turn. And on top of all that, the board itself just simply looks cool. After reading these specs, one can imagine how practical and efficient this board could be on a college campus. Getting from class to class would be so easy. Because of how practical I see the Boosted Board being, I have decided to save up for it because the price is very expensive but worth it instead of driving or using public transportation. To check out the incredible mechanics and video footage of the Boosted Board in action, this YouTube video below has everything you need to know! Finally, what mode of transportation are you planning to use if you attend college?

Recently, over the long five-day weekend, I purchased a Penny board with my friend. I bought it so I could use it in airports to get from each gate faster. That being said, I was not a pro at riding these boards (they are really small) so I had to practice. My friend, who also purchased a Penny board, and I figured the easiest place to practice riding them was in the mall because the flooring was smooth to ride on and closely resembled the floor of airports. Kicking off the board and beginning to ride was actually fairly simple and I was able to repetitively do that without falling in no time. The hard part for me is controlling myself and maintaining balance on the board when I gain a lot of speed. Times I have wiped out (yes in the mall) were due to the fact that I was going to fast for my body to balance myself properly on the Penny board. Obviously falling was somewhat embarrassing, however; I did not care because I did not know anyone in the mall and the people around me in the mall did not seem to care. As of now, I feel I am decent at riding a Penny board at a relatively fast speed and will be able to take it with me the next time I go to the airport. I cannot do any tricks on the board but that was never my goal in learning to ride one. My goal was solely to be able to ride it at a relatively fast speed so I could be more efficient at the airport and other places.
